Staff Midwife - Labour & Delivery Services (Ghayathi Hospital)

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Midwife to join the Labour & Delivery Services team. In this position, you will deliver comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to childbearing women and their newborns, adhering strictly to established regulatory midwifery standards. The successful candidate will champion patient- and family-centred care, collaborate closely with interdisciplinary clinical teams, support normal physiological birth, and actively engage in patient safety and clinical quality enhancement initiatives.

• Deliver comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal clinical care for normal, uncomplicated pregnancies while promoting physiological childbirth. • Accurately assess, monitor, and coordinate care throughout the patient journey, initiating prompt escalations or physician referrals upon identifying complications or risk indicators. • Supervise, mentor, and support junior nursing staff, student nurses, and practical midwives, stepping into charge nurse duties when required. • Administer medications and controlled substances safely in accordance with hospital policies and protocol, monitoring patient response and reporting adverse events. • Facilitate seamless communication, conduct structured clinical handovers, and maintain precise electronic medical documentation. • Educate patients and their families on maternal and neonatal health, actively promoting breastfeeding and baby-friendly hospital practices. • Engage actively in quality assurance, patient safety programs, clinical audits, incident reporting, and continuous professional development.
