GEMS Metropole School - Motor City is seeking an outstanding History Teacher to join its team in August 2026.

Responsibilities
• Teach History at GCSE and A-Level or equivalent levels.
• Deliver engaging, enquiry-based learning experiences that inspire students.
• Promote critical thinking and develop students' understanding of History and Humanities.
• Support students in achieving strong academic outcomes.
• Share outstanding teaching and learning practices with colleagues.
• Contribute to the development of global citizenship and sustainable values through History and Humanities.
• Maintain a creative and enthusiastic approach both inside and outside the classroom.
• Build positive professional relationships with students and parents.
• Use IT effectively to support teaching and learning.
• Contribute to the wider life and professional culture of the school.
• Participate in professional development and continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements
A B.Ed or subject-related degree in History and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent, proven qualified experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level History (or equivalent).
Qualification
• B.Ed or a subject-related degree in History.
• PGCE, PGDE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven qualified experience teaching GCSE and A-Level History or equivalent.
• Ability to inspire students through engaging, enquiry-based learning.
• Ability to share and contribute to outstanding teaching practice.
• Strong interest in career growth and leadership.
• Interest in sustainability and its integration into education.
• Creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working closely with students and parents.
