Director of Inclusion – Whole School- August 2027

GEMS Wellington Academy is seeking an exceptional Director of Inclusion to lead inclusive education across the entire school, starting in August 2027. The role involves setting a clear vision for inclusive practice, ensuring compliance with the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework, and fostering a culture where inclusion is embedded in all aspects of school life.

• Articulate and implement a strategic vision for inclusive education across the through‑school setting. • Lead the development of high‑quality provision for Students of Determination. • Ensure full compliance with the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework and KHDA expectations. • Collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, parents and external agencies to embed inclusion in every facet of school life. • Lead multidisciplinary inclusion teams, including SEN, EAL and specialist support staff. • Coach teachers and drive professional development to embed outstanding inclusive classroom practice. • Use data to evaluate provision and improve outcomes for all learners.

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) and a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. • Recognised postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs, Inclusion or a related discipline (Master's preferred). • Significant experience leading inclusion within a high‑performing international school. • Excellent understanding of the British curriculum and inclusive practice across a through‑school setting (ages 3–18). • Proven track record of developing high‑quality provision for Students of Determination. • Strong knowledge of the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework, KHDA expectations and current international best practice. • Experience leading multidisciplinary inclusion teams. • Expertise in developing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs), intervention programmes and evidence‑informed support strategies. • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
