Job Description
Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. (SEHA) is seeking a Consultant in Pediatric Pulmonology to oversee and deliver high-standard, evidence-based clinical care to pediatric respiratory patients. The role involves diagnostic evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans, leading inpatient/outpatient management, and guiding junior medical personnel. The consultant will also contribute to interdisciplinary care, rotational on-call duties, and clinical governance initiatives in alignment with Department of Health (DOH) guidelines.
Responsibilities
• Direct and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care for pediatric pulmonology patients.
• Conduct detailed clinical evaluations, interpret diagnostic results, and formulate patient management plans.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical specialists.
• Lead inpatient ward rounds and manage outpatient clinic appointments.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Participate in departmental on-call rosters covering nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation adhering to DOH standards.
• Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, and patient-safety protocols.
• Communicate treatment plans and medical findings clearly and empathetically with patients and families.
Requirements
• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) alongside completed specialty training in Pediatric Pulmonology.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and Board Certification/Fellowship (e.g., North American/European Board, Royal College Fellowship, or equivalent DOH Tier 1/2 qualification).
• 3 to 7 years of post-specialty clinical experience in an established multidisciplinary environment.
• Valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) license or active eligibility to obtain one.
• Valid Primary Source Verification (PSV) via DataFlow and a Certificate of Good Standing.
• Passing score on DOH licensing examination (if not exempted via Tier 1 credentials).
• Professional proficiency in both English and Arabic.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and patient communication skills.
