Job Description

Join AIT Worldwide Logistics as an Assistant/Deputy Manager – Finance and play a pivotal role in overseeing daily financial operations for our freight forwarding business. You will ensure accurate accounting, manage cash flow, produce profitability reports, maintain statutory compliance, and provide financial insights to support operational and commercial teams in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations. • Record revenue, costs, accruals, and provisions accurately and on time. • Review freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, and logistics transactions for accounting precision. • Monitor monthly closing activities and meet reporting deadlines. • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. • Manage daily petty cash. • Monitor customer credit limits, review aging reports, and drive collection of overdue invoices. • Coordinate with sales and operations to resolve billing disputes. • Recommend credit holds, extensions, and risk mitigation. • Prepare weekly and monthly cash‑flow forecasts and monitor bank balances. • Manage supplier payment schedules and approval processes. • Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations. • Prepare monthly management reports (revenue, gross profit, unit profitability, customer profitability, cash flow, KPI dashboards). • Assist in annual budgets and periodic forecasts, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations, VAT, and corporate policies. • Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain statutory documentation. • Review freight cost accruals, verify shipment profitability, and monitor job costing across all freight and warehousing services. • Identify margin leakage and process improvement opportunities. • Supervise finance executives and accountants, allocate work, monitor performance, and train staff on procedures and ERP systems. • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. • Preferred professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA). • 5–8 years of finance experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or supply chain. • 2–3 years of supervisory or people‑management experience. • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations, job costing, and profitability analysis. • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel reporting. • Proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors, CargoWise, or similar platforms. • Effective coordination and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work within defined strategies while contributing practical, execution‑focused insights. • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
